John Thomas Cawby

In 1884 John Cawby had a Bible which was printed at Wittenberg in 1440. This
Bible was brought from Germany to Maryland in 1780, by Peter Trisler, who, in
1794, settled in the present limits of Jessamine county, where he died April 22,
1821. This old Bible was the property of Mrs. Nancy Horine, who was a
grandaughter of Dr. Trisler.

Jacob Trisler

Jacob TRISLER10 was born in 1807 in Kentucky. He died after 1860 in bur: Mt. Salem Cemetery, near Bloomington, IN. I believe Jacob to be the brother of John, David and Peter. No recordwhen Jacob went to Monroe Cty IN, but John and David went about1840/1841.

Jacob Trisler and Sophia his wife, lived in Monroe County Indiana asnoted on the will of Elizabeth Hoover, mother of Jacob, dated 3 January1846. The will was proven in Woodford County Kentucky on the 7th day ofNovember 1850. (copy in my files)
At the top of the printed will is written,"Elizabeth Trisler's,( then aline is drawn through the name Trisler's ) Hoover's Will. She names hergrandchildren as children of Jacob and Sophia to be her heirs.

Jacob is buried in Mt Salem Cemetery out of Smithville, Monroe, Indiana.
Stones cannot be read, cemetery is very old, time and vandals have takentheir toll on this cemetery. (visited here in 1998, have pictures) Parents: Henry TRISLER and Mary BARR.

Elizabeth Ann Masters

Elizabeth must have died before 1870 since her father names his living
children in his will and does not name her.
