Patent to Abraham Miller from Thomas & Richard Penn
Warrant: 9 June 1743 to Matthias Baumgardner a certain tract of land inLebanon township in the County of Lancaster.
Beginning at a marked elm on the north side of the Quitopehil Creek thence by land of Francis Reynolds north ten degrees west oneeighteen perches to a marked hickory thence by land of John Erb southeighty degrees west one hundred and sixteen perches to a marked elm onsaid Quitopehila Creek, thence down the said creek on the severalseventy perches to a marked beach on south side of said creek,land of John Meyer and vacant land south thirty degrees east onethirty six perches to a marked hickory, thence by a line of markedeast fifty two perches to a post on the south side of Quitopehila Creekaforesaid, thence up the said creek on the several courses thereoffour perches to the place of begining containing one hundred twenty two acres of land and allowance of six acres p. cent for roads as in and bythe said warrant.
Matthias Baumgardner by his deed of 5 June 1750 sold to Andrew Miller,yeoman.
Warrant to Andrew Miller 5 May 1748: Beginning at a post thence byland east twenty perches to a post, thence by land of Christophernorth by east one hudred and fourteen perches to a marked black oakforty perches to a marked hickory and north thirty one degrees westnonety one perches to a marked black oak, hence by land of John Myersixty perches to a marked white oak, thence by vacant land south twentynine degrees east two hundred and seventeen perches to the place ofbegining containing sixty nine acres and sixty perches and allowancesaid as by the same warrant & survey...
Said Andrew Miller died lately intestate seized of the two severalof land having issue Abraham his eldest son and heir and several otherchildren.
Abraham petitioned OrphanUs Court of Lancaster County for persons toappraise this property. 1st Tuesday in June last before OrphanUs Court,Abraham agreed to make payment for the younger childrenUs part andto Margaret, widow of the deceased. Andrew also requested a patent onthese tracts of land. (See Lancaster Co OrphanUs Court 4 May 1762document)
Consideration: twenty nine pounds eleven shillings and ten pence lawfulmoney of Pennsylvania (discharged of yearly quit rents.)
2 tracts: 122 acres and sixty nine acres and sixty perches.

33. ABRAHAM MILLER came to the US in 1738 and settled in Lebanon CO, PA. He
laid out what was then Millerstown but is now Annville. He came to
Cumberland Co about 1765 and bought land in Allen Twp. He married
Rebecca Epwright of Harrisburg (born in England). They had 6 sons and
one daughter.
His 6th son Abraham married Elizabeth Boyer (dau of Frederick Augustus
Boyer). Abraham the younger had 5 sons and 2 daughters, His son Andrew
G MIller was born in 1811 at the old family homestead.
Andrew G miller served in the senate from 1869 - 1871. He married
Eleanor Umberger (Eleanors' paternal ancestor, John Leonard Umberger,
came to the US on the ship Hope in 1732.) Andrew and Eleanor had 6
children: William E, Mary, John R, Ellen, Henrietta, and Andrew G.
WILLIAM E MILLER was born 2/5/1836 at West Hill, Cumberland Co, PA. He
married Elizabeth Ann Hocker in 1856. William and Elizabeth had 2
children: Caroline and Elizabeth. Elizabeth died in 1859 from typhoid
fever. On 6/25/1868 WIlliam married again to Anna De Pui Bush of Tioga
Co PA (Dau of J S Bush a lumber merchant).
NOTE: [Abe's *father*, Andrew came to America I believe in 1730 on the ship
Hope & was married in 1738 in Lancaster co. Abe is the eldest son,

Whereas Adrew Miller late of the said County Yeoman lately died(as is affirmed) he having, whilst he lived, and at the time of hisDeath, divers Goods, Chattles and Credits within the said Province andCounties by Means whereof the full Disposition and Power of grantingAdministration of all and singular the Goods, Chattles and Creditssaid Decedent, and also auditing the Accounts Calculation and Reckoningof the said Administration, and a final Dissmission from the same to meis manifestly known to belong.
